Human Resources Manager (Industrial Plant)
General Information
Position: Human Resources Manager / Plant HR Manager.
Reports to: Plant Management / Corporate HR Management.
Location: Zaragoza Province (Industrial environment / Ebro axis).
Mission: Lead, coordinate, and implement the Human Resources strategy at the plant to support the industrial expansion plan. Ensure an optimal work environment, proper talent management, operational efficiency, and strict compliance with legal and safety regulations, acting as a strategic partner to Plant Management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Labor Management, Administration, and Legal
- Payroll Cycle: Oversee the correct calculation and processing of payroll and social insurance, as well as the management of daily incidents.
- Labor Relations: Lead communication with employees, ensuring a climate of dialogue and constructive negotiation.
- Compliance: Guarantee strict compliance with current labor regulations, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and Occupational Risk Prevention (H&S) regulations.
- Administration: Supervise the employee administrative lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, contracts, settlements), coordinating with external legal counsel on complex situations when necessary.
2. Planning, Cost Control, and Reporting
- Management Support: Act as the right hand to Management in the financial analysis of the HR department, identifying budget deviations and proposing corrective measures to optimize resources.
- Management Control: Prepare and control the personnel budget, analyzing critical KPIs (costs, hours worked, absenteeism, and turnover) to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Technology: Lead the implementation and optimization of HR management software and ERP, guaranteeing the integrity and reliability of a single source of truth.
3. Talent Management and Development
- Recruitment: Direct recruitment and onboarding processes for operational and technical profiles, planning future needs in coordination with Operations.
- Training and Performance: Design and execute the annual training plan and performance evaluation system to enhance the workforce’s competencies.
- Subcontracting: Manage and audit coordination with temporary employment agencies and subcontractors, ensuring legal and contractual compliance.
4. Health, Safety, and Work Climate
- Guarantee, along with the H&S Technician, compliance with Occupational Risk Prevention regulations.
- Foster a “Zero Accidents” culture.
- Measure and improve the work climate through efficient internal communication channels between the offices and the shop floor.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Degree in Labor Relations and Human Resources, Law, Psychology, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree in HR Management or Strategic People Management is highly valued.
- Knowledge: Deep and updated knowledge of Spanish Labor Law (Workers’ Statute) and, strictly required, the Zaragoza Metal Sector Collective Agreement. Fluent English (B2) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a generalist or HR manager role in an industrial setting (preferably automotive, components, machinery, or metal structures). Experience negotiating with industrial works councils and managing rapid workforce growth is highly valued.
- Competencies: Negotiation and conflict resolution skills, operations/business orientation (plant KPIs such as productivity, OEE, shrinkage), proactivity, resilience, approachability, and empathy will be valued.
